
Adopted Codes and Standards
The City of Johnson City is currently enforcing the 2006 International Codes, and the 2005 National Electrical Code.
Requirements For Submittal for a new Single Family Residence:
- 1 Complete set of plans showing exterior elevations.
- An engineer designed foundation plan.
- A completed rescheck.
- A completed permit application.
- A site plan showing easements, property lines, and building setbacks with measurements.
- If located on US Hwy 281 or US Hwy 290 driveway permits must be issued by the Texas Department of Transportation before a building permit can be issued.
Requirement for Submittal for a New Commercial Building:
- 2 Complete sets of plans (including Civil engineering plans).
- An engineer designed foundation plan.
- A completed Comcheck.
- A completed permit application.
- A site plan showing utility easements, building setbacks (with measurements) property lines and utility easements.
- Proof of submittal to Texas department of licensing and regulation for TAS standards (Texas Accessibility Standards).
- Proof of submittal to TCEQ for storm water permitting (projects of 1 acre or more)
- If located on Us Hwy 281 or US Hwy 290 driveway permits must be issued by the Texas Department of Transportation before a site plan can be approved by the City of Johnson City.
