Part Time Police Officer

 Requirements for Part Time Police Officer

Applicants must be TCLEOSE certified and hold a valid Texas driver’s license. Must be willing to submit to and pass physical and psychological exams, drug screen, and an extensive background investigation. In addition, applicants must pass a physical fitness test and written test.

Applicants with previous experience are preferred. Prefer candidates with a intermediate or higher certification is preferred and experience working in a small town environment is a plus.

Part Time Officers are REQUIRED to work a minimum of 2 (12) hour shifts per month. MUST be able to work days, nights, and weekends. More than one position will be filled from this announcement.

JCPD may provide 1 uniform and will pay a $50.00 stipend for each shift covered by a Part Time Officer

Full Time
Probationary Police Officer.
 
Requirements for Full Time Probationary Police Officer

Applicants must be TCLEOSE certified and hold a valid Texas driver’s license.  Must be willing to submit to and pass physical and psychological exams, drug screen, and an extensive background investigation.  In addition, applicants must pass a physical fitness test and written test.   Applicants with previous experience are preferred. Prefer candidates with a advanced or master certification and experience working in a small town environment is a plus.

Department provides uniforms, duty belt, duty weapon(s), and ballistic vest.  Each officer has a patrol unit assigned to them.  Take home car available for officers who reside inside the city limits.  City employees receive medical and dental insurance paid for by the city. 

A full package of benefits is available including medical and life insurance, retirement, sick leave, vacation, and longevity pay.  Five (5) percent of your salary is placed into your retirement by the City of Johnson City through T.M.R.S. with a 1.5 to 1 match.
