The City of Johnson City is proud to service our local and rural areas. We are here for the community when and where ever we are needed. The City's Public Works Department manages and maintains minor and major road repair and reconstruction projects, Public Works installs and maintains markings and works with local businesses and The Texas Department of Transportation. We are here to improve our community our town and our home. The Department will work for you and build our town as prompt and friendly as possible.We are growing everyday and love to see the newcomers to our community. Public Works manages Capital Improvement Program projects through all phases of design, construction, and inspection. The New Hike and Bike Trail has been one of the City's new and improve much need facilities for the community. The Hike Trail has been made possible thru the funding of grants and other organizations such as Pedernales Electric, Lower Colorado River Association, Texas Department of Transportation and local citizens. It has 1.4 miles of hiking with lighting and exercise stations, bathrooms,and other recreational amenities. Come take a stroll down our beautiful Hike and Bike Trail and see for yourself how nice it is, and enjoy the wonderful landscaping along your walk.
